From the moment I walked in, it was such a chill, clean, high-quality experience. The environment was peaceful, the music was on point—look, I need that playlist! Even the bathroom was clean, which says a LOT to me. The employees were welcoming, the service was great, and the cashier continuously kept everything clean and nice. You could tell there was pride in the environment and the customer experience. Now let’s talk about the FOOD, because I loved every single BITE! Excellent excellent excellent!!! 808 meets 904. Authentic poke like they do in Hawaii. I got the spam egg musubi, salmon crab musubi bake onigiri, and poke combo with drink and premium side: shoyu limu + tobiko ahi, mac salad side - two toppings: crispy rice pearls and spicy mayo drizzle. 10/10 meal truly. I haven’t had limu since 2023 in Oahu and I’m glad I can now enjoy it here at home. I’m craving mac salad again, might just buy a pound or two 😉

I’ve been wanting to try this place since they had their soft opening and was not disappointed! Staff was super friendly and I was in and out in a couple minutes. I got the yuzu volcano ahi — fresh fish, beautifully blended flavors, and just the right amount of kick. I also got the seaweed salad which was a perfect addition and also very fresh. Highly recommend trying the house pineapple juice which is sweet, salty, and very addictive. Makai is such a great addition to Riverside and I can’t wait to come back!

Born and raised on the west side of Oahu, and I’ve been here twice in the same week so IYKYK. This place is so ʻono (delicious)! I can honestly say it’s the only legit Hawaiian-style poke I’ve had in Jacksonville. I ordered the Spicy Ahi Hawaiian and the Shoyu Limu Ahi, and both were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The quality of the fish really stands out, and every bite brought me back home. No complaints at al. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Hawaiian poke.

One of the best poke spots in Jacksonville, hands down. From the first bite, it tastes just like Hawaii with incredibly fresh fish and authentic flavors. They have plenty of options to customize your bowl exactly how you like it. The whole place is a vibe, music is great and atmosphere. If you’re looking for traditional Hawaiian poke this is definitely the spot. 🌺🤙🏽
